  • Compounding, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance of OptioRx's compounding labs and facilities.
This includes managing the lab equipment, safety and facility policies and procedures, and maintaining compounding standards of operating procedures across the company. Furthermore, this position will actively participate in Quality Assurance meetings to ensure laboratory compliance in accordance with USP, state and federal regulatory agencies. This position reports to the Senior Director of Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Lead the creation, maintenance, and implementation of compounding lab standards of practice across the organization to promote compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, USP standards, and contractual obligations. The standards of practice will be focused on laboratory equipment, facility setup, training, and testing. 2. Develop and implement training and techniques for proper use and maintenance of laboratory equipment. This includes collaborating with OptioRx's training department to create the content and administer training through Learning Management Platform and create competency assessments for employees. 3. Manage and maintain inventory of laboratory equipment across the organization. Furthermore, must be proactive in determining facility requirements for compounding lab to ensure there is no disruption to pharmacy operations. This includes identifying faulty equipment that needs to be fixed or replaced, purchasing new equipment and ensuring proper installation and functioning within the compounding lab. 4. Support cross functional working relationships across the enterprise; in particular, collaboration with corporate and field operations to assess, review, analyze, create and support implementation of compliance project plans related to compounding labs, such as corrective action plans and accreditation requirements. 5. In collaboration with Director of Pharmacy Governance and Quality, must remain current with pharmacy regulatory standards, affecting immediate day-to-day compounding lab operations, and specifically related to state BoPs, FDA, DEA, CMS and various accrediting and certifying bodies (ACHC, PCAB, VPPS, URAC, etc.) 6. Consult and coordinate with Program Development Team to ensure all current and new OptioRx compounding standards of lab practice are properly implemented across the organization. 7. Document and maintain project plans and status reports as related to compounding lab requirements, mock inspections, equipment audits, and other ad hoc initiatives as needed; prepares and presents reports, executive summaries, and related presentations on a routine basis. 8. Consult and collaborate with the Operations Team on creating efficiencies in our laboratories through implementing processes, equipment and improved workflows.
QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Education and/or
Training:
a. Advanced degree preferred. 2.
Professional Experience:
a. Previous management experience. b. Previous experience in compounding pharmacy or healthcare (Minimum of 3 Years). c. Substantial experience writing, implementing, and maintaining a pharmacy policy and procedure manual. d. Direct experience working in a 503A and/or 503B compounding pharmacy. 3.
Licenses/Certifications:
a. Licensed and/or Certified Pharmacy Technician in the state of residence. b. Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred. 4.
Specialized Skills:
Underlying skills that enable an employee to perform effectively on the job. a. Ability to balance multiple projects and adapt to new issues/assignments as business needs change. b. Self-starter that takes ownership and an inventive problem solver with a high level of personal and team accountability c. Operates with the highest level of ethics, compliance, professionalism, and integrity. d. Proficient in reading, writing, and implementing SOPs consistent with corresponding regulatory bodies, and company policy and expectations. 5. Open to mentorship from management. 6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 7.
Technical Skills:
Underlying skills that enable an employee to perform effectively on the job. a. Expert level proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. b. Knowledge of pharmacy dispensing systems, internet, web-based applications, and other office equipment. 8. Tech savvy and ability to learn new systems or functionality. 9. Applicants must be able to pass a background investigation prior to employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1.
Ability to continuously sit for extended periods of time. 2. Ability to bend or squat occasionally. 3. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
Pay:
$130,000.00
