Job Description

Job Title:
Laboratory Manager Job Description The Laboratory Manager plays a critical role in ensuring ongoing compliance with CLIA and COLA requirements. This position is responsible for providing operational and regulatory oversight across all laboratory sites, maintaining and producing required
CLIA/COLA
documentation, and supporting day-to-day laboratory operations. The Laboratory Manager will also assist with running and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation to support daily testing workflows and maintain high-quality performance standards. Responsibilities Oversee compliance for all laboratories in accordance with CLIA and COLA standards. Produce required documentation, including Monthly QC reports, Weekly and Monthly instrument maintenance logs, API proficiency testing records, calibration and linearity reports, corrective action plans, and technician competency documentation. Participate in CLIA and COLA inspections as the designated representative. Lead daily operations of the laboratory, operate instruments as needed, and assist in processing all submitted samples. Support efforts to minimize turnaround time with an emphasis on same-day results for applicable tests. Develop and execute Validation Studies for new assays to ensure readiness for patient testing. Utilize EP Evaluator for statistical analyses and formal reporting. Create new protocols and review existing laboratory policies to ensure regulatory compliance. Provide documentation and training for laboratory staff on proper equipment use. Maintain records of technician training and competency. Stay current with regulatory and industry changes and update protocols as needed. Essential Skills Expertise in laboratory operations and
CLIA/COLA
regulatory compliance. Proficiency in operation management and protocol compliance. Ability to efficiently process data and manage laboratory safety procedures. Medical, Chemistry, Clinical laboratory operations. Experience in cost reduction strategies and safety training. Additional Skills & Qualifications At least 2 years of laboratory experience. Experience in staff development and medical laboratory settings. Work Environment The work is conducted in a laboratory setting, where maintaining a high standard of safety and protocol compliance is essential. The role requires close collaboration with the Laboratory Director and involves frequent interaction with laboratory staff for training and operational efficiency. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
