About the
Role:
The Director of the Laboratory at Wagoner Community Hospital (WCH) will play a pivotal role in overseeing all laboratory operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services to support patient care. This position is responsible for developing and implementing laboratory policies and procedures that comply with regulatory standards while promoting best practices in laboratory medicine. The Director will lead a team of skilled professionals, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and innovation. Additionally, the role involves strategic planning to enhance laboratory services, optimize resource utilization, and maintain budgetary controls. Ultimately, the Director will ensure that the laboratory meets the needs of the community and contributes to the overall mission of WCH to provide exceptional health care services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field. Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent. A minimum of 1 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with laboratory information systems and data management. Previous experience in a hospital laboratory environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Manage laboratory staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development. Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs to enhance service delivery. Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care. Monitor laboratory budgets, manage resources efficiently, and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.
