Annual 80K Salary + 10% Quarterly Bonus after 90 days of probation period About the Role We are looking for a skilled Lab Supervisor (Bilingual - English/Mandarin) to lead our team at the newly opened Beaverton biology lab. This role is pivotal in ensuring lab operations meet our high standards for genomic services while fostering a collaborative team environment. As we coordinate closely with our global headquarters, fluency in both English and Mandarin is required to manage technical communication and reporting effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Supervise daily lab activities, manage technician schedules, and provide hands-on training for new hires during their 90-day training period.
Operational Excellence:
Ensure all genomic testing and lab processes adhere to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and quality control standards.
Bilingual Liaison:
Translate technical protocols and serve as the primary point of contact for technical discussions with our HQ engineering and science teams.
Inventory & Equipment:
Oversee the procurement of lab supplies and ensure all equipment is regularly calibrated and maintained.
Compliance & Safety:
Enforce strict adherence to lab safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Assist HR in maintaining safety training records.
Performance Management:
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide technical feedback to the team to ensure professional growth and lab efficiency.
Requirements:
Language Skills:
Full professional proficiency in Mandarin and English (required for technical reporting and HQ collaboration).
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in a production lab setting, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of genomic services, PCR, or sequencing technologies. Proficiency in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and Excel for data tracking.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities and the warmth to mentor a growing team.
Pay:
$80,000.00 per year
