Job Title:
Staff Scientist Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Scientist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support the execution of laboratory experiments, author content, and perform data verification. You will generate documentation for the introduction and qualification of materials used in GMP processing. Responsibilities Serve as the main point of contact for laboratory logistics, including acting as equipment owner to assist various teams with troubleshooting and maintenance. Lead laboratory management activities, including inventory control. Implement laboratory improvements related to organization and safety. Serve as a point of contact for IT integration activities related to laboratory equipment and management. Author and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory equipment. Support management and implementation of electronic lab notebook systems, including developing templates for MST experiments. Essential Skills Proficiency in laboratory techniques including biology, molecular biology, cell culture, aseptic technique, and downstream purification. Experience with AKTA and Unicorn Software. Knowledge of antibody and monoclonal antibody handling. Experience with inventory management, lab supplies ordering, sample preparation, and sample collection. Understanding of GMP, GDP, and Good Documentation Practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience in laboratory operations. 2+ years of hands-on lab testing and aseptic technique experience. Experience with mammalian cell culture. Proven experience managing laboratory logistics, equipment, and safety protocols. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Familiarity with electronic lab notebook systems and laboratory documentation practices. Ability to lead organizational efforts, including lab space optimization and inventory management. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Work Environment This role operates within a laboratory setting that utilizes advanced technologies and equipment. The environment is collaborative, with a focus on safety and efficiency. Dress code adheres to standard laboratory attire requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Philadelphia, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
