Available on a case-by-case basis Full-time leadership opportunity with strong growth potential Day shift schedule with no weekend requirement High-impact role within a complex hospital laboratory environmen Position Summary The Hospital Laboratory Director provides strategic and operational leadership for all clinical laboratory services within the hospital. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, financial performance, quality outcomes, and staff development while maintaining high standards of patient care and laboratory excellence. The Director will collaborate with hospital leadership, laboratory staff, vendors, and regulatory bodies to drive performance improvement, ensure compliance, and support organizational goals. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee daily clinical laboratory operations and departmental functions Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, CMS, JCAHO, FDA, and other applicable regulatory standards Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory policies, procedures, and quality systems Manage staffing, recruitment, onboarding, competency validation, and performance evaluations Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development to laboratory personnel Monitor operational efficiency, workflow optimization, and resource utilization Prepare financial and operational performance reports, including Monthly Operating Reviews Manage departmental budgets and identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities Address operational variances and implement corrective action plans Collaborate with supply chain and vendor partners for procurement and contract management Drive continuous quality improvement and process optimization initiatives Promote a culture of safety, engagement, accountability, and service excellence Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry required Master's degree preferred National certification as a Medical Technologist required Active state laboratory licensure required (as applicable) Minimum 3+ years of progressive laboratory management experience required Strong background in hospital or acute care clinical laboratory operations preferred Deep knowledge of laboratory regulatory, accreditation, and compliance standards Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and financial management skills For more details contact at or Call / Text at 516-862-1169.
