Job DescriptionResponsible for the supervision and management of the laboratory testing operations and staff which conduct the analysis and reporting of various products such as crude oils, fuel oils, middle distillates, petroleum and petrochemicals, LPG & LNG gases, etc. Ensures that the administrative and technical laboratory services to both internal and external customers are provided in a safe, legal, ethical, competent, and cost-effective manner, thus being always of high quality. The position is both an operational and strategic role driving continuous improvement at the operating level through the implementation of new technology, common training, standardization, costing, and quality systems.

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of laboratory and Laboratory ManagersInitiate, implement, and adapt plans that will encompass features to drive, embed, and sustainResponsible for interviewing, hiring, pay decisions, and training knowledge; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Provide stratugic input in regard to the continual improvement of the Laboratory Quality System consistent with ISO and industry requirementsManages a high revenue P&L month to monthIdentify and correct the root cause drivers of variance in performanceProvide recommendations to the Regional Laboratory Manager on upgrading laboratoryIdentify and implement new technologies and feed new technology developments into the SGS marketing and business planning processesProvide expert technical advice on analysis and related activities to the organization and support the core activities / client conversations as requiredAssure compliance with Laboratory Q.A. Manual and Safety ManualOversee quality control of Laboratory solutions and standardsIdentify emerging shifts in the industry through the review of competitive analysis coupled with the ability to make sound suggestions or recommendations to maintain competitiveDevelop KPIs for performance benchmarkingAt all times comply with the SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.

QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Science, with an emphasis in Chemistry or other related field and/or equivalent industry experience.
