Job Description

Laboratory Director (Working Manager) Junction, TX Starting at $80,000 annually Position Summary Trinity Employment is seeking an experienced and hands-on Laboratory Director to lead our clinical laboratory operations. This is a working manager role that combines leadership responsibilities with active participation in daily laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing both director-level oversight and routine Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) duties as needed. The Laboratory Director will oversee laboratory operations, ensure regulatory compliance, maintain quality standards, and provide direct supervision and support to laboratory staff. Key Responsibilities Direct and oversee all laboratory operations, policies, and procedures. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards. Perform routine laboratory testing and bench work as needed, including MT/MLT duties. Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for laboratory personnel. Manage a team consisting of 3 full-time laboratory technicians and 1 PRN technician . Oversee quality control, proficiency testing, and quality assurance programs. Monitor laboratory workflows, staffing, scheduling, and productivity. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and administration to ensure high-quality patient care. Participate in rotating weekend on-call coverage and respond to operational issues as necessary. Assist with staff training, competency assessments, and continuing education initiatives. Maintain laboratory equipment and coordinate service, maintenance, and validation activities. Qualifications Required Current MT/MLS, MLT, or equivalent laboratory certification as required by state and facility regulations. Previous laboratory leadership or supervisory experience. Strong working knowledge of clinical laboratory operations and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated Blood Bank experience is required. Ability and willingness to perform hands-on laboratory testing in addition to management responsibilities. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. #
