Job Description
Director of Radiology Overview The Director of Radiology serves as the strategic and operational leader for all imaging services, driving excellence, innovation, and patient‑centered care. This role oversees a multidisciplinary team and ensures seamless operations across diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology, MRI, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and mammography. The Director shapes departmental strategy, elevates clinical quality, strengthens workflow efficiency, and ensures that quality, patient satisfaction, capital planning, and financial goals are achieved. Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership Direct daily operations across all imaging modalities Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care Ensure optimal staffing, workflow efficiency, and productivity benchmarks Strategic Planning & Development Lead initiatives to expand services and adopt new technologies Collaborate with senior leadership on service line development and capital planning Monitor industry trends and propose innovative solutions Financial Management Develop and manage operational and capital budgets Monitor financial performance and identify cost‑saving opportunities Oversee equipment procurement, service contracts, and vendor relationships Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Maintain accreditation standards (Joint Commission, ACR, HIPAA) Implement quality assurance programs and support performance improvement Leadership & Staff Development Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate radiology personnel Promote a culture of accountability, professional development, and continuous learning Conduct staff meetings, performance reviews, and mentoring initiatives Collaboration & Communication Build strong relationships with physicians, nursing, and allied departments Represent Radiology in committees and leadership forums Address patient concerns professionally and promptly Qualifications Minimum 5 years of radiology/imaging leadership experience Professional certification required: ARRT, NMTCB, or ADRMS Eligible for state licensure as a certified technologist Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams Strong knowledge of imaging technologies, regulatory standards, and healthcare operations Demonstrated success in operational, financial, and strategic management Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Proficient with
RIS, PACS, EMR
systems , and Microsoft Office Ability to drive quality, patient satisfaction, and departmental performance
Pay:
$160,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
