Job Description

St. Mary's Medical Center is currently seeking a full time Laboratory Supervisor for our Microbiology Department. Under the supervision of the Director, Laboratory Services or authorized designee, and pursuant to Federal Regulations, Clinical oversight by the Medical Director or appointed Pathologist. Supervises, coordinators and performs tests in one of the fields of Hematology, Immunohematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Serology, Histology and Cytology in order to obtain data for use by the Physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs and or monitors quality control procedures. Observes and enforces laboratory safety regulations.
Education Requirements:
Current WVDHHR State license and ASCP Registered (or equivalent). Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from an accredited College or University or equivalent education and credentials preferred. Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology or equivalent educations as defined in 42CFR493.4189(b)(2)(ii) with at least two years of training and/or experience in high complexity testing.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years clinical experience within the department for which they are applying or a minimum of three (3) years clinical experience from another facility in the department for which they are applying.
Certifications/Skills:
Administrative ability essential. Ability to work well with others. Highly developed sense of responsibility and awareness of importance of work. Dedication to profession and acceptance of demands of the profession. Ability to work with and coordinate implementation of administrative policies and procedures with the Medical Director of Laboratory Services.
