Job Description

Overview Responsibilities Under general direction, position is responsible for performing clinical testing of clients in accordance with departmental standards to ensure that quality results are obtained.
NOTE:
Upon attainment of registry as outlined, reassignment to Tech Diagnostic/Polysomnographic Registered or Tech Diagnostic Polysomnographic RT Registered position based on IH guidelines will occur. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Good oral and written communications skills Licensure, Registration Certification BLS Non-Respiratory Therapist must complete the AASM A-Step Modules and 1638 hours of testing to become eligible to obtain registry and must obtain registry within 24 months of being eligible for registry
  • : American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) Respiratory Therapist must complete the AASM A-Step Modules and 546 hours of testing to become eligible to obtain registry and must obtain registry within 24 months of being eligible for registry
  • : American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS) National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS) Board of Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
  • Failure to obtain the registry within that timeframe will require the A-Step to be repeated before taking the exam Desired Qualifications B.
S. degree in Health or Biological Sciences or training in a related paramedical specialty Working knowledge of polysomnography
