Job Description

Category Laboratory - Medical Technologist Job Type Contract Opportunity available for an experienced Medical Laboratory professional with expertise in heavy blood banking. This contract position offers a chance to make a real impact in a fast-paced laboratory environment, performing critical diagnostic testing and supporting patient care teams.
Schedule/Hours:
Night shifts with rotating weekends
Key Qualifications:
Current certification as Medical Technologist (MT/MLS), Medical Lab Technician (MLT), or equivalent; ASCP or AMT accepted Solid experience with blood banking and transfusion protocols Previous hospital or high-volume laboratory experience strongly preferred Phlebotomy skills a plus, but not required Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently during overnight hours Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
Conduct a full range of laboratory tests, focusing heavily on blood banking and transfusion medicine Analyze samples, interpret results, and maintain accurate documentation within laboratory information systems Assist with sample collection and perform phlebotomy when needed Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and accreditation standards Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, and other laboratory staff to deliver precise and timely results Maintain and calibrate equipment, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices to maximize workflow efficiency Participate in ongoing training and continuing education This opportunity offers exposure to state-of-the-art laboratory technology, a strong focus on collaborative care, and the chance to work with skilled professionals dedicated to high standards in laboratory medicine.
