Job Description

Under the direction of the Medical Technologist Supervisor, this position provides clinical support and diagnostic direction to physicians and other healthcare workers by performing and evaluating moderate to high complexity testing on patients from neonates to geriatrics. In addition to the normal Medical Technologist job functions, this position provides support to the section supervisor and assistant supervisor by assisting in various supervisory duties.
Hourly Pay Rate:
$30.37 - $44.80
Qualifications Education :
Requires a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a Certified Medical Technology program or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.
Experience :
Must have a minimum of one (1) year of Medical Technology experience.
Certification/Licensure :
Eligible to be certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists is preferred. Requires
BLS. A BLS
card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is required within 3 months.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
This position requires extensive knowledge of current laboratory technical and analytical processes and systems, and functionality of other sections in the laboratory such as specimen control and outreach. Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling & punctuation. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English. Requires excellent time management skills and customer service skills. Must possess basic computer skills in a Windows environment. Analytical skills are strongly preferred.
