Job Description

City of Hope's growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and treatment facilities in Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix. This full-time role is based in Corona, California and follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The position is responsible for performing point-of-care testing, preparing clinical specimens for analysis, and conducting as well as reporting waived, moderate, and high-complexity laboratory procedures. All work is carried out in strict compliance with established standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements, including FACT, AABB, ACHI, CAP, FDA, and Joint Commission standards. The role also supports the training and education of staff in laboratory practices and operates under the direction of the Laboratory Director in accordance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations, CFR Section 493.1445(a). As a successful candidate, you will: Perform point-of-care testing and prepare clinical specimens for accurate laboratory analysis Conduct and report waived, moderate, and high-complexity laboratory procedures in accordance with established protocols Ensure all testing activities comply with SOPs and regulatory standards including FACT, AABB, ACHI, CAP, FDA, and Joint Commission Support training and mentorship of staff in laboratory procedures and best practices Work under the authorization of the Laboratory Director in compliance with CLIA regulations (CFR Section 493.1445(a)) Perform other duties as assigned Your qualifications should include: Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Scientist Generalist License BLS Certification through the American Heart Association City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.
