Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Polysomnographer Technologist III to join our sleep medicine team. This advanced role requires a professional with comprehensive knowledge of sleep disorders, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in respiratory therapy, physical examinations, and medical terminology, ensuring accurate assessments and high-quality patient care. As a Polysomnographer Technologist III, you will play a vital role in conducting complex sleep studies, interpreting data, and supporting treatment plans to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive sleep studies, including overnight polysomnography, with precision and attention to detail. Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess vital signs to ensure patient safety during testing procedures. Utilize extensive knowledge of respiratory therapy and physiology to monitor and manage patients effectively throughout sleep evaluations. Interpret complex diagnostic data related to sleep patterns, breathing abnormalities, and neurological activity. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop tailored treatment strategies based on diagnostic findings. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient responses, and technical observations in compliance with regulatory standards. Provide education and support to patients regarding sleep disorders, test procedures, and treatment options. Stay current with advancements in sleep medicine technology and participate in ongoing training to enhance technical proficiency. Precepts and oversees the Polysomnographic Technicians, Technologist I, II and III as well as students and new employees. Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues. Upholds Kaiser Permanentes policies and procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws. Complies with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) Standards of Conduct. Requirements 1 year work experience in sleep lab or with 6 months experience and credentialed if hired as a trainee. Graduate of an accredited educational program with an Associates Science Degree in Respiratory Care. Polysomnographic Technologist Certificate from Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists OR Certified Respiratory Therapist - Sleep Disorder Specialist from National Board of Respiratory Care OR Registered Respiratory Therapist - Sleep Disorder Specialist Certificate from National Board of Respiratory Care Respiratory Care Practitioner License (California) Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate from
National Board of Respiratory Care Basic Life Support Preferred Qualifications:
1 year of work experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting Extraordinary customer relations and quality service skills Bilingual Spanish Preferred Must type 20 WPM and have computer skills Familiar with Microsoft office suite and electronic medical records
Pay:
$43.13 - $47.43 per hour
