At Lucid Diagnostics, we believe early detection will make esophageal cancer a disease of the past. Our groundbreaking EsoGuard DNA test assesses genes from cells collected from the esophagus in a quick, non-invasive procedure. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is responsible for following all standard operating procedures of the laboratory and adhering to all quality regulations. Adhere to all Quality regulations (CAP, CLIA & New York State) and ensure all training and competency forms are complete. Maintains competency and participating in proficiency testing as appropriate. Maintains lab cleanliness, maintaining inventory, washing lab ware. Adheres to QC and maintenance procedures established in the department. Document all deviations from the standard operating procedures (either planned or unplanned) on a Deviation Report form along with the appropriate corrective actions. Prior to work, ensure that all equipment and instruments work properly, are maintained through preventative maintenance and that instruments have been calibrated or verified for calibration. Assists in the maintenance of department stock and supply levels by being aware of reagents and consumables used and notifying Supervisor when stocks are low. Assists in maintaining department in a clean and orderly manner. Adheres to all safety regulations and ensures departmental compliance. Other duties as assignedJOB QUALIFICATIONS
CA CLS License required; Generalist or CGMBS (preferred), plus ASCP certification Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, Biological Sciences, or a related field. 1-2 yrs of CLS experience in high-throughput NGS molecular laboratory preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, attention to detail, ability to cross reference information, ability to prioritize work, telephone skills, computer skills, working knowledge of standard office equipment (computers, printers fax machines, phone systems, office software and internet). Flexibility regarding job assignments. Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to handle a wide work variety in a fast-paced environment. Must be a detail-oriented, organized self-starter with an ability to prioritize workload. Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems.
