Job Description

About Us:
At Valley Children's, the Laboratory provides comprehensive clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology services for our extensive patient population. We are vital members of the interdisciplinary teams that care for patients across the Valley Children's Healthcare system. Our work includes services for patients in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings. As a VCH laboratorian, you will work in a special environment serving patients of all ages from the smallest infants to adults. Our pediatric testing offers unique experiences that include a focus on using specimens efficiently. Front line teams specialize in specimen collections, processing, histology, and support activities. Analytical teams staff a variety of sections that include core laboratory, microbiology, transfusion service, and point of care testing. A commitment to high quality and innovation drives our work. We are nationally accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the transfusion service is also accredited by AABB. Job Summary:
Accountable for performing laboratory procedures using a variety of instruments and procedures. Performs laboratory analyses on blood and various body fluids to obtain data on which a diagnosis of health or disease can be made and appropriate therapy initiated. Areas of responsibility may include one or more of the following: hematology, coagulation, immunohematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, urinalysis, molecular biology, histopathology, and point of care testing (POCT).
Qualifications :
This role may have the opportunity to provide coverage across all areas of the laboratory, as needed to support operational demands. Education College Degree
  • 4 year Consistent with State of California CLS Licensure requirements (required) Licenses and Certifications CLS
  • Clinical Lab Scientist License
  • CDPH
  • California Department of Public Health or or Public Health Microbiologist
  • CDPH
  • California Department of Public Health license is required for all levels. Work Experience Minimum one (1) year Clinical laboratory (full-time) (preferred)
  • Compensation is based on experience and placement within the Clinical Laboratory Scientist career ladder.
CLS I:
$44.85
  • 69.
60 One (1) year of full-time clinical laboratory experience preferred
CLS II:
$44.85
  • 69.
60 Two (2) years of full-time equivalent clinical laboratory experience required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
