Clinical Lab Scientist Novatox Santa Ana, CA Job Details Temporary | Contract | Per diem $35 - $45 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Biology Medical Technology Clinical Laboratory Scientist License HIPAA Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking a Temporary/Contract Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to support operations within a toxicology laboratory. The ideal candidate will have experience performing moderate and high-complexity testing, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of toxicology results. This is a contract-based assignment intended to provide coverage for operational needs, special projects, validation studies, or staffing support. Duties & Responsibilities Perform moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA, CAP/COLA, state regulations, laboratory policies, and quality standards. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, including immunoassay analyzers and
LC-MS/MS
systems, as applicable. Review quality control (QC), calibration, proficiency testing, and maintenance records to ensure compliance with laboratory requirements. Analyze, interpret, and verify patient results while identifying and resolving potential discrepancies or testing issues. Document testing activities, quality assurance activities, corrective actions, and instrument maintenance according to laboratory procedures. Assist with method validations, verification studies, and implementation of new assays or laboratory processes. Maintain accurate specimen tracking and result reporting through the Laboratory Information System (LIS/LIMS). Support laboratory operations by assisting with inventory management, reagent preparation, and supply monitoring. Collaborate with laboratory leadership and staff to ensure efficient workflow and turnaround time requirements are met. Adhere to all HIPAA, laboratory safety, and confidentiality requirements. Qualifications Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS/MLS/MT) license as required by state regulations. Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or related field. Minimum 1-2 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred; toxicology laboratory experience strongly preferred. Experience with toxicology testing platforms, immunoassay analyzers, and/or
LC-MS/MS
instrumentation preferred. Working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, COLA, and laboratory quality management requirements. Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS/LIMS).
Pay:
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
