Job Description

Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) / Lab Supervisor Job description: American Genomics is a molecular laboratory, performing molecular PGX PCR testing. Job responsibilities 1. Performing routine and special procedures with available manpower, equipment and reagent/supply sources 2. Processing patients specimens, reviewing and reporting results to the ordering providers 3.Monitoring turnaround times to insure timely availability of results to patient care areas 4.Training of new hires 5.Monitoring quality control and quality assurance metrics to insure accurate resulting and patient safety 6.Maintaining skills in associated areas of responsibility 7.Performing and assisting in a variety of technical and administrative activities. 8.trouble- shooting equipment and test methods. 9.Identifies and resolves unusual laboratory situations and notifies appropriate parties within shift. 10.Supervising the technical and clerical staff assigned within the laboratory as needed 11. Maintaining overall safety (including chemical and biological) of the laboratory in accordance with established safety, infection control and procedure protocols. 12.Monitoring and ordering supplies and reagents Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology program from an accredited institution required with 4 years of High complexity testing laboratory experience. 1. Master's degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology program from an accredited institution required with 2 years of High complexity testing laboratory experience. 2. ASCP or equivalent certification preferred. 3. CLS CA State certification required 4. Previous supervisory experience or leadership role preferred
