This temporary Medical Technologist opportunity is based in Jupiter, Florida, a vibrant coastal community on the state's beautiful Atlantic shoreline. The position is a 13-week, full-time night shift assignment with an expected schedule of 40 hours per week. The lab environment is modern, with advanced instrumentation and a wide array of testing platforms. You will be part of a collaborative night shift team; technologists are never scheduled to work completely solo, ensuring support and shared expertise throughout the shift. This setting is ideal for those who work well in a generalist capacity and are comfortable in multiple sections of the laboratory, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, transfusion-related testing, and microbiology-related assays, depending on departmental structure and workflow. The lab utilizes Cerner for its electronic medical record and laboratory information system, which supports efficient ordering, resulting, and communication between laboratory staff and clinical teams. The testing menu is robust, supported by equipment such as Roche Cobas analyzers, Sysmex instruments, Stago systems, Arkray platforms, Tango/IH500, Cepheid, BioFire, and Virtuo, among others. These systems provide exposure to a broad spectrum of diagnostic technology and test methodologies, making this assignment a strong resume builder for technologists seeking experience with advanced instrumentation and diverse assay panels. On a typical night, you can expect to manage a mix of routine and stat testing to support inpatient and emergency department needs. Responsibilities may include performing and verifying tests, operating and maintaining analyzers, running quality controls, troubleshooting equipment and reagent issues, and escalating critical results in accordance with laboratory protocols. Accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential, as night shift work plays a key role in supporting urgent clinical decisions. There is no phlebotomy requirement for this role, allowing you to remain focused on analytical testing and instrumentation. The specified dress code includes black scrubs, contributing to a professional and cohesive appearance within the department.
