Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Laboratory Technologist for a dynamic travel contract opportunity. In this role, you will perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures to support clinical diagnostics, research projects, and clinical trials. Your expertise will ensure accurate data management, specimen processing, and laboratory operations while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Conduct complex laboratory tests including ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), PCR (polymerase chain reaction), flow cytometry, immunoassays, and other specialized assays. Perform RNA extraction, DNA isolation, blood sampling, venipuncture, phlebotomy, and specimen collection/processing with precision and aseptic technique. Manage laboratory data using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and ensure accurate documentation of test results and patient information. Maintain laboratory equipment, perform routine calibration, quality control checks, and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure optimal performance. Support clinical trials by preparing samples, executing assays, analyzing data, and maintaining detailed records of procedures and outcomes. Follow laboratory procedures aligned with hospital standards, medical terminology protocols, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and blood banking practices. Ensure compliance with safety regulations by practicing proper biosafety measures during specimen handling and blood banking activities. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide insights on laboratory findings related to clinical diagnoses or research objectives. Experience Proven clinical laboratory experience with a strong background in performing assays such as ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, immunoassays, and blood banking techniques. Hands-on experience in specimen collection including venipuncture, blood sampling, phlebotomy, and processing for various tests. Familiarity with laboratory management tasks including inventory control, equipment maintenance, data analysis skills, and laboratory information management systems (LIMS). Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology principles related to blood components and bodily functions. Experience working within hospital environments or research laboratories conducting clinical trials or diagnostic testing. Strong understanding of laboratory procedures involving aseptic techniques and specimen handling in compliance with safety standards. Ability to adapt quickly to different healthcare settings while maintaining high accuracy in test execution and data recording.
