Every 3rd Weekend Position Overview Seeking an experienced Travel Medical Technologist to join its Laboratory team, with a primary focus on Blood Bank services.
Job Duties:
• Perform complex laboratory testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Serology departments. Conduct blood typing, antibody screening, antibody identification, crossmatching, antigen typing, and transfusion reaction investigations. Prepare, issue, and monitor blood products while ensuring compliance with transfusion medicine protocols. Analyze and verify laboratory test results, identify abnormal findings, and communicate critical values to healthcare providers. Perform quality control, quality assurance, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Process and handle patient specimens, including accessioning, labeling verification, pipetting, storage, and preparation for testing. Conduct chemistry testing such as cardiac enzymes, immunoassays, therapeutic drug monitoring, hormone and thyroid testing, and tumor marker analysis. Perform hematology and coagulation testing including manual differentials, CBC reviews, platelet counts, reticulocyte counts, fibrinogen testing, and sedimentation rates. Perform microscopic and macroscopic urinalysis and evaluate body fluid specimens as required. Follow laboratory safety standards, infection control guidelines, and transmission-based precautions. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment. Float within the laboratory department as needed and support additional testing areas within scope of practice. Requirements • Minimum 2 years of Medical Technologist experience Previous travel assignment experience required
ASCP, ASCP
MT, ASCP-BB, AMT, or ABB certification accepted Strong Blood Bank experience required Experience in a hospital clinical laboratory setting MLT candidates will not be considered HL01
Pay:
