  • Technical Specialist-Blood Bank-Hospital Lab#26-10594 Evansville, IN All On-site Job Description
Description/Comment:
Summary Responsible for overseeing the Transfusion Medicine processes within the hospital labs. Develop training and competency programs for Transfusion Medicine hospital based labs. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drives and leads Transfusion Medicine projects
  • Works with CLIENT Quality Assurance team to utilize quality tools and insure readiness for any regulatory inspections
  • Oversees the FDA Reportables and submissions
  • Drives Standardization across the system in Transfusion Medicine
  • Oversight of collaborative team incorporating thought leaders from CLIENT and applicable hospitals
  • Develop transfusion medicine productivity standards, quality measures, and best practices
  • Evaluation of instrumentation, reagent systems to drive standardization

Leader to provide ROI, service requirements and implementation tools for recommended instrumentation
  • Creates and executes standard Blood Bank SOPS, tools and metrics
  • Serves on hospital subcommittees as needed Job Qualifications (Work Experience, Physical & Mental Requirements, Knowledge, Skills) Physical activities include frequent walking, sitting, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting and squatting.
The ability to lift up to 30 lbs. in weight to a height of 5 feet and carrying moderately light loads for a distance of 50 feet. Color vision is required for accuracy in work. Atmosphere and environment associated with a clinical laboratory setting

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology required ASCP Certification required Three to six (3
  • 6) years of pertinent, full-time laboratory experience in a Core laboratory.
Advanced education will be counted towards years of experience

Once the start instructions are received, which is typically the Friday prior to the candidate's start date the associate will receive starting instructions from the account management team.
