Days Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis. FLSA Status Non-Exempt Job Role Summary The Medical Technologist performs pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic clinical laboratory testing to assist other healthcare providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients as well as in disease monitoring and prevention. Technologists must comply with all Eskenazi Health, Pathology Department and Section specific policies and procedures in addition to all regulatory standards and our PRIDE values. Technologists may work in one or more areas of the laboratory to include Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Serology and Blood Bank. Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Follows policies and procedures (SOPs) to ensure minimal errors during the pre-analytic phase of testing.

- Follows policies and procedures to ensure minimal errors during the post-analytic phase of testing.
- Completes assignments/mandatories according to policies and procedures and manager direction, with complete documentation and within designated time frames.
- Prioritizes and organizes work effectively to balance multiple tasks, while maintaining quality standards. Maintains turnaround time standards for patient testing, including the use of outstanding lists, worksheets, etc; Assists others to maintain an efficient workflow and meet turnaround time expectations.
- Functions as a self-starter, arrives to work on scheduled days and is in the section ready to begin work at the start of the shift, as well as demonstrates flexibility with schedule to meet the needs of the department/section (e.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Associate of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology, or Bachelor of Science in a related life science (e.g. Biology or Chemistry
- must have 2 years experience working in clinical lab). Degrees must be from an accredited U.S. college or university or foreign degrees must be officially assessed to determine U.S. equivalency.

o In order for new graduate to move to MTII, they must have completed training and competencies in the assigned section(s), passed certification exam, and have worked on home shift for a sufficient time to demonstrate that they are consistently able to work independently and with a high degree of accuracy. o New technologist hires that are certified and have previous MT experience are hired as MTII Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Knowledge of accrediting agencies and regulations associated with accreditation for areas of the lab worked (TJC, ISDH, CAP, AABB, FDA)
