Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist (MT) for a travel assignment in a hospital laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical laboratory experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to perform testing across multiple laboratory disciplines while maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient care.

07/20/2026 Requirements Minimum of 2 years of Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist experience required. At least 1 year of recent clinical laboratory experience required. National Certification required (ASCP preferred). Active BLS certification from AHA or ARC required. MLS or MT candidates only; MLT candidates will not be considered. Experience with Meditech Expanse preferred. Strong knowledge of hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, coagulation, and urinalysis procedures. Ability to work independently during night shifts and manage multiple priorities. Must have reliable transportation for assignment duration. Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and communication skills. Responsibilities Perform routine and complex laboratory testing in accordance with established policies and procedures. Analyze, verify, and report accurate laboratory results in a timely manner. Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Perform quality control procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Evaluate specimens for acceptability and ensure proper specimen handling and processing. Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records within the electronic medical record system. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding laboratory findings and testing needs. Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality assurance guidelines. Assist with proficiency testing, inventory management, and laboratory process improvements. Provide excellent patient-focused service while supporting efficient laboratory operations during overnight shifts.
Pay:
$45.00 - $49.00 per hour Application Question(s): MLS or MT candidates only; MLT candidates will not be considered.
