Location:
Madelia, Minnesota, United States Facility:
Madelia Health - a 24-hour critical access community hospital serving our local community with dedicated healthcare services. Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our laboratory team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to support patient care in a fast-paced, community-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Perform a wide range of laboratory tests, including blood bank and phlebotomy procedures, in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines. Operate and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment, ensuring quality control and calibration. Document and interpret test results accurately within our electronic medical records system (Cerner). Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely reporting and support clinical decision-making. Rotate through various laboratory sections, including blood bank and general chemistry, to ensure comprehensive service coverage. Participate in occasional on-call duties, reporting within 30 minutes when required. Adhere to all safety, compliance, and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications & Requirements Certification:
Must hold current ASCP certification as MLT or MLS.
Licensing:
Valid AHA BLS certification must be obtained and maintained.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience preferred, with strong proficiency in phlebotomy and blood bank testing.
Technical Skills:
Experience with Cerner Laboratory Information System or similar is preferred.
Other:
Ability to work Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts (10:00 AM - 8:30 PM). Occasional weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities are required, with rotating shifts.
Additional Skills:
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate:
Competitive salary based on experience, ranging approximately from $25.92 to $44.52 per hour.
Employment Type:
Full-time, permanent placement.
