Job Description

A well-established, 200-bed acute care hospital in the Kansas City metro area is seeking a Medical Technologist (ASCP) to join its laboratory team. This full-service community hospital provides advanced medical services for adults and pediatric patients and is recognized for excellence in cancer care, women's services, robotic surgery, and rehabilitation. Responsibilities Performing waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing on blood and body fluids in accordance with CLIA regulations Executing pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic testing processes Investigating and resolving unexpected or abnormal results Maintaining quality control and quality assurance standards Managing inventory of reagents and supplies Maintaining laboratory equipment (refrigerators, freezers, centrifuges, etc.) Participating in performance improvement initiatives Assisting with training and mentoring laboratory staff and students Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science ASCP certification (MT/MLS) or equivalent required Minimum 1+ year recent Blood Bank experience in an acute care hospital setting Strong understanding of CLIA standards and laboratory compliance Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Why Join?
