$4k Relocation Assistance & $5k Sign-ON Bonus Job Summary Performs laboratory analysis on received specimens and provides clinical information to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Responsible for maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards while performing assigned technical duties in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment. Essential Functions
Laboratory Operations & Quality Assurance
Performs testing procedures in accordance with established laboratory policies and quality assurance standards.
Ensures proper operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and work areas.
Documents corrective actions for any non-conforming events.
Prepares reagents and maintains adequate inventory and supplies to support testing procedures while minimizing departmental waste and expense.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
Exercises sound clinical judgment to assess priorities and resolve technical issues.
Identifies problems within test systems and escalates concerns through appropriate department channels.
Contacts technical support or service specialists when necessary to troubleshoot instrumentation or arrange repairs.
Compliance & Documentation
Assists with review and revision of laboratory procedures and accreditation documentation.
Maintains compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including:
CAP
TJC
OSHA
Communication & Team Collaboration
Maintains clear, real-time communication between shifts and leadership regarding issues that may impact patient care or departmental operations.
Participates in staff meetings, task forces, projects, and departmental initiatives.
Participates in competency assessment programs when qualified.
Physical Requirements
Works in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.
Exposure to biohazardous/infectious materials, chemicals, fire hazards, and mechanical hazards.
Duties may require:
Standing and walking for extended periods
Stretching, stooping, and bending
Lifting light (20 lbs.) to moderately heavy (50 lbs.) loads
Education & Certification Requirements
Associate's degree required
MLT registry eligible or equivalent required
MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent required within one year of hire
Preferred Skills & Qualifications We are seeking candidates who demonstrate: Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently
Some shifts may require the technologist to work as the only team member onsite
Effective time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced laboratory environment
Adaptability and flexibility as workflows and priorities may change frequently
Experience using EPIC preferred
Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation including:
AU680
DxH
Stago Compact
Previous blood bank testing experience strongly preferred, as blood bank work is performed at this facility
