Mon-Fri 2pm-10:30pm w/rotating weekends Job Summary Performs laboratory analysis on received specimens and provides clinical information to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Responsible for maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety in the performance of assigned technical duties. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Laboratory Testing & Quality Assurance
Perform laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and policies.
Adhere to quality assurance guidelines for equipment and work areas.
Document corrective actions for any non-conforming events.
Ensure accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of test results.
Inventory & Reagent Management
Prepare reagents and testing materials as required.
Maintain adequate supplies necessary for testing procedures.
Manage inventory to minimize waste and control departmental expenses.
Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution
Exercise clinical judgment in prioritizing workload and addressing testing issues.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems within testing systems.
Utilize appropriate resources, including technical hotlines and service specialists, to resolve equipment or system issues.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
Assist with the review and revision of laboratory procedures and documentation.
Maintain compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, including:
College of American Pathologists (CAP)
The Joint Commission (TJC)
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
Support departmental readiness for inspections and audits.
Communication & Collaboration
Maintain clear, real-time communication between shifts and leadership.
Report issues, concerns, or problems that may impact patient care or laboratory operations.
Participate in staff meetings, task forces, and departmental projects.
Assist with planning and implementing process improvements and organizational changes.
Competency & Professional Development
Participate in competency assessment programs, as qualified.
Maintain professional knowledge and skills necessary for laboratory practice.
Required Skills & Certifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or equivalent registry-eligible certification required.
MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), or equivalent certification required within one (1) year of hire.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required.
MT, MLS, or equivalent registry-eligible status required.
