Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures to support accurate diagnosis, treatment, and research activities. Your expertise in laboratory techniques, specimen processing, and data management will contribute significantly to patient care and scientific advancements. Key Responsibilities Sample Collection and Handling:
Collect and prepare specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and transport to maintain sample integrity.Laboratory Testing and Analysis:
Perform diagnostic tests following strict protocols, including blood chemistry, microbiology, hematology, and other specialized assays.Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments like microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers, performing calibration and troubleshooting as needed.Quality Control:
Conduct quality control procedures to ensure test accuracy and reliability, identifying and correcting inconsistencies in results.Data Management:
Accurate record-keeping is essential; document test results, patient information, and quality control data, often using laboratory information systems and software.Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, communicating test results and contributing to patient care decisions.Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols, handle potentially infectious materials and hazardous chemicals, and comply with laboratory regulations and standards.Required Skills and Qualifications Education:
Associate degree in Medical Lab Technology is required.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in laboratory procedures, equipment operation, and quality control. Handling of Beckman Coulter equipment is a plus.Physical Stamina:
Ability to handle long hours, repetitive tasks, and exposure to biological samples. Attention toDetail:
Ensuring accuracy in testing and data recording.Computer Skills:
Familiarity with databases, laboratory information systems, and EMR.Flexibility:
Willingness to work overtime if needed Work Environment The role involves a fast-paced, high-volume environment where precision and adherence to protocols are critical.Pay:
