A Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. A sleep technologist is able to perform the duties defined for a sleep technician and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff. The sleep technologist is credentialed in sleep technology.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. Obtain a minimum of 10 CEC's in sleep medicine annually. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred :
Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology.
Licenses and Certifications Required :
Polysomnography Technologist License. Registered Sleep Technologist or Registered Polysomnography Technologist Cerfication or Registered Respiratory Therapist Sleep Disorders Specialty.
