job summary: Are you ready to bridge the gap between cutting-edge scientific discovery and robust clinical application? We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Scientist to join our clinical laboratory team on-site in Lower Gwynedd, PA. In this role, you will be a vital driver of our day-to-day translational research and laboratory assay development. You will blend hands-on wet lab expertise-specifically in DNA extraction, sequencing, and microbiology culturing-with dry lab data analysis to help establish an end-to-end, quality-guided sequencing workflow and microbiome bioinformatics pipeline. This is an exciting opportunity to generate high-quality, GxP-compliant data that directly impacts manufacturing, stability, and future pre-clinical studies.

Execute Lab Assays:
Perform daily translational research studies and laboratory assay development with a primary focus on DNA extraction, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and microbiology culturing.
Workflow Development:
Collaborate with the clinical laboratory team to build and optimize an end-to-end, quality-guided sequencing workflow and microbiome bioinformatics pipeline.
Data Integrity & Documentation:
Accurately document all experimental and assay results to ensure high-quality, GxP-compliant data generation supporting regulatory and manufacturing standards.
Protocol Authoring:
Write, refine, and contribute to study protocols, ensuring standard operating procedures (SOPs) are robust and reproducible.
Cross-Functional Support:
Execute well-designed experiments that support downstream manufacturing, stability testing, and upcoming pre-clinical pipelines.
qualifications:
Required Education & Experience:
• Master's or PhD in Biomedical Sciences (or a related life sciences discipline) with at least 2 years of relevant hands-on laboratory experience; OR Bachelor's degree in a life science discipline with 5+ years of highly relevant, hands-on work experience.
Analytics & Data Interpretation:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in scientific data analysis and interpretation (can include graduate and post-graduate research work).
Technical Core Skills:
Proven proficiency and hands-on experience in DNA extraction, sequencing technologies, and microbiology culturing.
Documentation & Writing:
Demonstrated experience in formal study protocol writing and detailed documentation of assay results.
Digital Proficiency:
Minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing digital laboratory tools and data systems.
Preferred Advanced Analytics:
Experience with Metabolomic Data Analysis and digital collaboration tools like GitHub and Posit.
Expanded Wet Lab Skills:
Familiarity or hands-on experience with mammalian cell culturing.
Experimental Design:
Experience with active experiment planning, ideation, and assay troubleshooting.
Project Management:
1 year of experience leading or managing laboratory projects to successful milestones. #LI-HK1 skills:
