Position Summary:

The Medical Technologist performs a wide range of clinical laboratory tests as ordered by medical staff in a CLIA-licensed, COLA-accredited laboratory and must hold certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or another recognized national agency. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to clearlymunicate technical information related to laboratory prores and results. The incumbent serves as lead technologist and assumes laboratory manager responsibilities in their absence, while overseeing maintenance logs, testing systems, and quality improvement activities. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with rotating Sunday shifts and may require additional evening or weekend hours during high patient volume or campus emergencies; the role is designated as essential personnel during emergency and weather-related events. Job Duty Analytical:

Performs waived and moderatelyplex laboratory tests and prores including but not limited to 1. Performing hematology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology and Chemistry prores according to written protocols and good laboratory practices. 2. Operating and maintaining various laboratory equipment including but not limited to microscopes, chemistry and hematology analyzers, molecular and rapid antigen platforms and centrifuges according to prore. 3. Communicates test results to the medical staff and furnishes additional information related to testing and results as appropriate. 4. Job Duty Lead Technologist:

Manages Laboratory inventory through periodic inventory checks paying attention to expiration dates. Assists laboratory manager with procurement of supplies via established vendors and state procurement practices. Places requests with reference laboratories for necessary collection supplies. Updates and helps to maintain the Laboratory Procurement database. Updates and maintains laboratory Safety Documents including the Chemical Inventory, Biosafety Plan, SDS library and annual safety risk assessment. Manages laboratory safety inspections.
