Overview Medical Technologist, General Laboratory Full Time, 80
Hours Per Pay Period, Variable Shifts LeConte Medical Center Overview:

Position Summary:
The MT performs routine and specialized clinical lab tests for use in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by physicians. Uses judgement from educational background to give the physician information to diagnose and treat illnesses. Responsibilities Reads and interprets tests and performs appropriate testing. Prepares sterile media for use in growing bacterial cultures; reads cultures. Analyzes blood, body fluids and parasites. Maintains required records, reports and statistics as directed. Performs quality control and media processing. Educates others as necessary. Performs equipment maintenance as needed. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
Six (6) months experience
Licensure Requirement:
Current TN license
