Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at a leading clinical setting. In this vital role, you'll perform complex laboratory tests, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and contribute to accurate diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities:
Follow established laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, and testing to ensure accurate results. Manage records demonstrating proficiency testing and adhere to quality assurance protocols. Perform specimen analysis utilizing approved testing methods, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Review, validate, and release test results in a timely and accurate manner. Comply with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and other safety guidelines, maintaining a safe laboratory environment. Conduct quality control activities, including instrument calibration, maintenance, and documentation. Monitor test system performance; identify and troubleshoot problems, initiating corrective actions or notifying supervisors if needed. Document all corrective steps and deviations from typical procedures, maintaining comprehensive records. Communicate critical or STAT results promptly to appropriate personnel or clients. Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization, ensuring reagents and test kits are properly stored with current expiration and lot numbers. Participate in training on new procedures, attend departmental meetings, and stay updated on safety practices. Assist in inspections or audits by regulatory agencies and participate in safety training sessions. Perform any additional duties specified by the supervisor to support laboratory operations.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory testing techniques and quality control principles. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and multiple computer systems. Familiarity with
CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA
regulations, and safety protocols. Effective communication skills, with a customer-service orientation when interacting with clients and team members. Ability to handle multiple procedures simultaneously while maintaining accuracy. Nice to
Have Skills:
Experience with high-complexity testing in a clinical laboratory. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from recognized bodies such as ASCP or AMT. Prior experience in regulatory inspections or government audits. Knowledge of laboratory information systems and electronic health records.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred. Associates degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology acceptable with relevant work experience. Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in high-complexity testing preferred. Valid national and state licensure as required by your jurisdiction. Foreign-educated candidates must provide credentials evaluation from IERF; U.S.-educated candidates should submit official transcripts.

Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple procedures effectively. Professional interaction with other departments and clients, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
