Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, performs a variety of laboratory tests in various clinical laboratory sections. Obtains specimens from patients and performs established clinical tests and procedures. Interprets test results. Maintains accurate records and operates computer hardware and utilizes applicable software to input and maintain clinical laboratory data. Performs instrument and equipment maintenance. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Class I. Maintains HIPAA required and all the other confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis. Maintains continuous relationships with physicians, patients and family members. Follows aseptic procedures and procedures for using precautions when involved in direct patient contact or handling potentially infectious materials. Performs duties in related departmental functions as directed by the Administrator or Department Supervisors. Follows safety guidelines and policies for the Hospital.
