Duties for This Position As a Medical Technologist-Clinical Lab Technologist you will work under the direction of the Lab Manager. The MT performs clinical testing in blood bank, chemistry, serology, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, special chemistry, and microbiology. Obtains or receives specimens, and performs laboratory tests according to established procedures. Understands methods and principles, performs and evaluates quality control on a daily basis. Performs preventive maintenance on instrumentation and interprets results as to their accuracy, acceptability and critical limits and informs physician/nurse accordingly. Will also oversee MLT and Lab Assistant. Qualifications Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree in biological science ASCP Certification as a Medical Technologist or equivalency. Required Skills Strong communication skills and independent judgment. Flexibility in demanding environment. Strong computer capabilities. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
