Job Description

The Clinical Educator is responsible for the development of the plan of education for the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) and the Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU). The Clinical Educator works with the Clinical Director to orient, educate, and train the TCU and ARU Staff in accordance with standards, regulations, and best practice, using a variety of teaching methods. Assists new and current staff in developing role clarity, professional role confidence, and proficiency. Operates as a change agent in the practice and learning environment and assists with staff and unit development. This role meets the regulatory requirements of the Director of Staff Development/DSD. Proficient communication skills, both oral and written Proficient computer skills and knowledge required to understand, guide, and support educational system processes Clinical competence Ability to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate educational programs and processes Detail oriented and able to operate independently Proficient in delivering effective and dynamic education to patients and staff Ability to assess patient/staff learning needs and recommend programs to meet those needs Works independently and as part of a team Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and objectives Ability to demonstrate teaching/learning strategies Principles of patient/family teaching.
Required Experience Required:
Current California RN license Current CPR certification BSN or currently enrolled in BSN program Two years' clinical experience in an acute care or post-acute care facility Director of Staff Development certification (DSD) with 6 months of hire Current Basic Life Support Card from the
American Heart Association Preferred:
