Professional Development Practitioner - Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) Orlando, Florida | Full-Time Orlando Health is seeking a Professional Development Practitioner to join our education and clinical excellence team at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC). This role is ideal for an experienced nurse educator or clinical leader passionate about advancing staff competency, improving patient outcomes, and fostering lifelong learning within a high-acuity hospital environment. About ORMC For more than 100 years, ORMC has served as a cornerstone of advanced medical, surgical, rehabilitative, and emergency care in Central Florida. As the region's only Level I Trauma Center, ORMC is recognized for delivering high-quality, complex care while supporting innovation, education, and clinical excellence across all specialties. Position Overview The Professional Development Practitioner functions as a learning facilitator, mentor, change agent, and clinical educator . This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that enhance staff competency, support professional growth, and ensure safe, evidence-based patient care. You will partner closely with leadership, Clinical Learning, and frontline teams to strengthen onboarding, competency validation, and ongoing staff development across assigned units. Key Responsibilities Conduct ongoing learning needs assessments and develop data-driven education plans Design, coordinate, and evaluate orientation programs for new team members Deliver innovative, evidence-based education using adult learning principles and best practices in nursing professional development Assess clinical competency through direct observation at the point of care Collaborate with leadership to track orientee progress and provide performance feedback Support quality, safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives across the department Develop curricula aligned with Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) standards Promote participation in professional organizations and continuing education opportunities (e.g., AORN, AWHONN) Analyze education outcomes and report findings to key stakeholders Maintain compliance with organizational policies and clinical standards
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required from an accredited nursing program (or closely related bachelor's degree)
Licensure/Certification:
Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and/or NRP as required by unit National specialty certification required within 2 years of hire (if applicable)
Experience:
