MercyOne Des Moines Meicald Center Regional Clinical Educator:
Full-Time Day Shift (80 hours biweekly)
Position Focus:
The focus of the Regional Clinical Educator is to provide oversight of the clinical staff of the Air Med program to deliver safe, evidence-based care. The Regional Clinical Educator will provide critical care knowledge and skills to lead the clinical staff of the program. The Regional Clinical Educator will be a clinical leader for all regional team locations. The Regional Clinical Educator will be an active participant in MercyOne's outreach program
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the quality assurance program. Oversight of all clinical staff in the Air Med program Coordinates with the local base Educators on formal education for the Emergency Transport Services Division based on industry trends and evaluation of quality data. Participates with the Director, Educator and Educators in the hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating of all staff. Works with the local base leadership to facilitate the on-boarding process of new employees. Responsible for the clinical advancement of the program Coordinates with the base Educator to assesses and evaluates the performance of the clinical staff of all regions. Serves as a clinical resource and a preceptor for all clinical staff. Coordinates with Medical Directors to review, write, and edit Patient Care Guidelines and Policy and Procedures based on evidence-based material. Direct oversight of all research projects. Primary point of contact for accreditation standards and surveys. Other duties as assigned by the Division leadership.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of RN or Paramedic experience in critical care or emergency department, or 4 years of previous transport experience. Experience in public speaking and education/training (preferred).
Education:
Bachelor of Science in a health-related field (preferred). Master's degree (preferred). Required Certifications at Time of Hire with MercyOne Must be obtained and maintained: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Iowaor Iowa Licensed Critical Care Paramedic. Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Advanced Flight Certification (CFRN or FP-C). Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC) -(Preferred). Required Within 3 Months of Hire Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to the population served. Required Within 2 Years of Hire Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE) certification.
