• Nurses are empowered, respected, and actively involved in shaping practice Position Summary The Unit-Based Nurse Educator provides dedicated education and competency support for the 6 Central, Transplant Unit.

This role partners closely with nursing leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support unit orientation, annual education requirements, regulatory compliance, and quality monitoring initiatives while serving as a clinical and educational resource for frontline nursing staff. Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate unit-based orientation for new 6 Central, Transplant Unit nursing staff
• Coordinate and maintain annual education requirements, including regulatory, competency, and skills-based training
• Provide education related to advanced transplant techniques
• Support competency validation and ongoing clinical skill development
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to support quality monitoring, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
• Serve as a clinical resource for evidence-based cardiac and critical care practices
• Promote professional growth, clinical excellence, and a culture of continuous learning
• Provide flexibility for occasional nights and weekends to meet unit needs Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current Registered Nurse license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Minimum of 3 years of cardiac specialty nursing experience required
• Additional 1-3 years of training, education, or staff development experience preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with Liver and Kidney Transplants, Urology and Colorectal Surgeries, Bariatric Surgeries. Skills & Knowledge
• Strong knowledge of cardiac critical care nursing and evidence-based practice
• Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and nursing leadership
