Leads and directs functions surrounding activities and responsibilities of clinical staff development. Responsible for collaborating with clinical leadership, clinical quality, and staff to create, develop and implement training, initiate new practices, policies, and processes which are current and evidence based. Ensures comprehensive and effective orientation, ongoing knowledge, skills development, and competency for clinical staff. Responsible for developing and implementing written, instructor-led, online, and experiential-based training programs. Responsible for accurate and effective documentation of clinical training and staff development. Collaborates with clinical leadership and clinical quality to target areas for professional development which supports and fosters staff knowledge, skill, and competency. Ensures all practices related to clinical training and training documentation meet or exceeds standards for all regulatory agencies and reflect TOSA's Core Competencies. Assists Director of Corporate Education in planning operations including budget and strategic planning for the education department. Responsible for ensuring clinical staff development needs are met through coaching and mentoring so their performance routinely meets or exceeds TOSA performance standards. This position may be required, on occasion, to travel by company, commercial, or personal automobile and light or commercial aircraft to accomplish the job responsibilities. The incumbent will have access to confidential material and needs to use discretion with this information and strictly adhere to Texas Organ Sharing Alliance confidentiality policy.WORK SCHEDULE
The Clinical Educator position is a full-time position. Normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The employee may occasionally have to work evenings or weekends, as needed.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
: Collaborates with Director of Education and Training and clinical leadership to develop and maintain dynamic training and professional development programs focused on ensuring learner competency in core processes Collaborates with clinical quality to incorporate training and adjust training process to minimize margin of error as identified from performance improvement projects Supports professional development and competency by designing and collaborating on initiatives/programs. Collaborates with the Director of Education and Training to maintain training modules in QPulse and TOSA's LMS to provide standardized and centralized training and professional development materials Collaborates with preceptors to design written, eLearning, blended, and instructor-led curricula Designs and uses tools and processes to assess skill, knowledge, and learning transfer related to core competencies Develops and implements a structured orientation process in collaboration with departmental leaders Assists in identification and training of clinical preceptors Mentors new preceptors, facilitators, and trainers Oversees and coordinates on-going continuing education for all clinical staff to ensure up-to-date and consistent training and assessment practices Maintains training and education calendars that outline training plans for clinical staff Represents TOSA, including giving presentations and authoring case study/abstract submissions at meetings as needed Pursues membership in professional organizations, specifically NATCO and AOPO Participates in departmental strategic planning process as needed Ensures clinical training & education program is in compliance with governing and accrediting bodiesREQUIREMENTS
: Minimum 5 years' experience in critical care OPO experience and CPTC certification preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with QPulse and LMS preferred Functional skills related to clinical education, teaching, data, technical, analytical, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills.
