$12.50 per hour About the Role Burke is seeking a Part-Time Vocational Specialist to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through skills development, socialization training, and daily support services. This position plays an important role in helping individuals build independence, develop vocational and life skills, and participate successfully in community and workplace activities. The Vocational Specialist is responsible for overseeing the daily management of clients while maintaining a safe, supportive, and person-centered environment. What You'll Do
  • Oversee the daily management and support of assigned clients
  • Provide skills development and socialization training
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including meal monitoring and medication administration
  • Promote independence and community integration opportunities
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for individuals served
  • Complete required documentation and maintain detailed records
  • Support individual goals and skill-building activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned What We're Looking For
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Ability to use a computer to document appropriately and maintain detailed records
  • Dependability, professionalism, and strong organizational skills
  • Valid Texas driver's license What Helps You Stand Out
  • One (1) year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Experience providing vocational, life skills, or community support services
  • Knowledge of person-centered services and community integration practices Key Skills

  • Monday-Friday
  • 29 hours per week Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid Texas driver's license required
  • Must be physically able to complete required training courses including SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and other required training modules
  • Driving record must be insurable by Burke's insurance administrator Physical Requirements
  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to operate a vehicle safely
