This 1.0 FTE/Full-time position is scheduled to work 8-HR day shifts.
Compensation:
Exempt, $47.46/HR - $67.80/

Job Summary:
The RN Educator is responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of educational programs for nursing and clinical staff across the district (e.g., medical assistants, LPNs, RNs, etc.) to ensure clinical competency, regulatory compliance, and excellence in patient care. This role supports onboarding, ongoing education, skills validation, and professional development through evidence-based practice and adult learning principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Education & Training:
Develop and deliver education programs for medical assistants, LPNs, RNs, and nursing leadership In collaboration with the Learning & Development Specialist, contribute to the development and refinement of education and training for non-nursing clinical roles. Design and implement onboarding and orientation programs for new clinical staff Conduct skills labs, simulations, and competency validations Provide continuing education, in-services, and annual competencies Support cross-training and role development initiatives
Curriculum Development:
Create and update educational materials, policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines Align education programs with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational goals Integrate evidence-based practice and current clinical standards into training content
Clinical Competency & Quality:
Assess staff learning needs and competency gaps Monitor clinical performance and provide coaching and remediation as needed Collaborate with leadership to improve patient safety, quality outcomes, and clinical standards Support quality improvement initiatives through education
Professional Development:
Mentor and coach nursing staff and medical assistants Promote career development pathways and continuing education opportunities Support certification preparation and professional advancement
Collaboration & Leadership:
Partner with the Education Coordinator, nursing leadership, providers, HR, and quality teams Participate in committees, accreditation activities, and organizational initiatives Serve as a clinical education resource and subject matter expert Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
Current RN license in the state of Washington, or compact. Bachelor's degree in Nursing, required. Minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care or comparable healthcare setting, with demonstrated involvement in education, precepting, or staff development. Required Licenses, Certifications and/or
Registrations:
Current AHA Provider and/or Instructor status in BLS, ACLS, PALS and/or Neonatal Resuscitation or will be certified in appropriate discipline. Certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC) or Clinical Education, preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of adult learning theory and evidence-based educational methodologies, with the ability to design and deliver engaging, learner-centered education tailored to diverse clinical roles, experience levels, and learning styles. Skill in developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical education curricula, including onboarding, ongoing competency programs, and continuing education, using measurable outcomes to assess effectiveness and inform continuous improvement. Ability to assess, validate, and document clinical competencies through observation, skills check-offs, simulation, and performance evaluation, ensuring staff demonstrate safe, effective, and evidence-based practice. Expertise in identifying learning needs and supporting professional growth through targeted education, coaching, and development initiatives that promote clinical excellence, role progression, and staff retention. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and influence clinical staff and leaders, fostering a culture of learning, accountability, and professional development while serving as a trusted clinical and educational resource. Working knowledge of applicable regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards (e.g., DNV, Joint Commission, CMS, scope of practice), with the ability to integrate requirements into education, competency validation, and documentation. Ability to align education initiatives with quality, safety, and performance improvement goals by incorporating data, trends, and outcomes into learning strategies that support organizational priorities and patient care outcomes. Skill in collaborating with nursing leadership, providers, allied health professionals, and operational partners to ensure education initiatives support interdisciplinary practice, workflow integration, and consistent clinical standards across departments.
