Job Description

We are currently seeking a Full Time Nurse Practitioner to service our skilled nursing and assisted living campus located in Bluffton SC. Duties include assessing new admissions, responding to changed in conditions, routine follow up visits, new hire employee physicals as well as staff walk in visits.

Full Time Qualifications:
Must have an active Registered Nurse license, be a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) and either have a valid Prescriptive Authority or be eligible for the Certificate to Prescribe Externship (CTP-E). Candidates should also have or be willing to get a DEA number. As an APRN, you must be able to perform the following essential functions:
Essential Job Functions:
Operate the facility in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the governing body in compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Perform initial and follow-up patient visits as appropriate. Maintain current licensure and certifications as needed to perform your job. Diagnose and treat patients as clinically appropriate. Consult appropriate physicians in cases where additional input may be needed to determine diagnosis and/or treatment of a patient. Follow all guidelines for nurse practitioners as outlined in the South Carolina Revised Code. Stay current on industry changes which include, but are not limited to OSHA, HIPAA, South Carolina Revised Code, company policies and procedures, and other standards associated with performing your job as a nurse practitioner. Order and interpret labs, x-rays, or other diagnostic testing as appropriate for patients. Prescribe clinically appropriate medication for patients (subject to having your Certificate to Prescribe, DEA number, or CTP-E). Maintain productivity standards as assigned by supervisor. Complete all documentation in a thorough and timely manner. Demonstrate proficient clinical discretion within your scope of practice. Manage assigned caseload and schedule in accordance with the best interest of your patients. Practice interdisciplinary teamwork within the organization. Educate staff, patients, and families on the best practices for patient care as needed. Display excellent communication skills by keeping all authorized parties informed on patient treatment and progress. Maintain a safe working environment for staff and patients by following all established guidelines and company policies and procedures regarding safety. Act as a patient advocate. Ensure all proper paperwork is signed by patient, family, or power of attorney prior to treatment. Participate in continuing education as needed to stay current and maintain your license and certification. Provide patients with a referral to a physician as noted in the guidelines of the Standard Care Agreement. Attend regular chart reviews as required per the guidelines set forth in the South Carolina Administrative Code/South Carolina Revised Code. Follow guidelines in the Fast Response Nurse Practitioner Standard Care Agreement for conflict resolution and clinical disagreements. 1 of 2 Nurse Practitioner (NP) Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNP)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Report any suspected abuse, safety issues, patient complaints, or other situations that may require intervention to the appropriate personnel. Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Perform other duties as directed by your supervisors. Follow all guidelines as set forth in the Fast Response Nurse Practitioner Standard Care Arrangement for CNP and CNS. Sit or stand for extended periods of time Reach above shoulder heights, below waist or lift as required to complete the job responsibilities Proper lifting techniques, ability to read computer screens and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are required Must be able to lift 15 pounds. Raising objects from lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This requirement occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Must be able to balance, climb, crouch, grasp, kneel, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop adequately to perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to hear, smell, feel and speak adequately to perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to read and write the English language.
