Job Description

A hospital in Ottumwa, Iowa is seeking a senior-level Director of Quality/Risk to provide leadership over quality improvement and risk management functions across the organization. This is a fully on-site role requiring regular in-person presence at the facility. Partial relocation assistance is available for qualifying candidates. The Director of Quality/Risk will oversee quality improvement initiatives and risk management programs, bringing together clinical expertise and proven management experience to drive meaningful performance improvement. This senior leader will ensure regulatory compliance, champion patient safety efforts, and guide the organization toward sustained excellence in care delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead and direct quality improvement initiatives across the facility Oversee risk management programs and mitigation strategies organization-wide Drive performance improvement through data analysis, clinical insight, and strategic planning Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards Champion patient safety efforts and promote a culture of continuous improvement Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to align quality and risk priorities Develop and implement policies and procedures that support organizational objectives Monitor key quality indicators and report findings to senior leadership Prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys, audits, and inspections Mentor and develop staff within the quality and risk departments Qualifications Master's degree in Nursing or another healthcare-related field required Clinical degree as a Registered Nurse required Minimum of five years of leadership and/or management experience in a healthcare setting in nursing, risk, and/or quality improvement required Benefits Partial relocation assistance available for qualifying candidates
