Job Description
The Director Quality Assurance will find an energizing platform to drive measurable, patient-first outcomes, with modern data tools, real-time dashboards, and evidence-based playbooks that have helped the hospital sustain strong quality scores, low HAI rates, and standout patient experience; this Director Clinical Quality and Risk Management role partners closely with physicians and APPs, advances Just Culture and high-reliability practices, pilots innovation such as telehealth and virtual nursing, and benefits from supportive leadership committed to clinician wellbeing, transparent career pathways, tuition assistance, paid CE, certification pay, and advancement into broader system-quality scope—ideal for a Director Quality Control seeking impact in Oregon's most beautiful rural healthcare market.
Anchored in a collaborative Quality and Patient Safety program, the Director Clinical Quality and Risk Management will shape an integrated Quality Assurance and Compliance service line that spans safety event management, performance improvement, accreditation readiness, and risk mitigation; the setting is a premier, independent Critical Access Hospital serving the greater Northeast Oregon region, backed by national top-tier rural care recognition, state-of-the-art facilities, a wide array of specialized clinics, and a highly accessible Mobile Wellness Unit, all operating within a 25 bed critical access hospital that delivers the right-sized agility to turn great ideas into everyday best practice.
Reporting to an executive leader such as a Vice President of Quality or the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director Quality Control is supported by analysts, infection prevention professionals, risk and compliance specialists, and clinical educators, and collaborates daily with friendly nurses and a diverse healthcare professional team across ED, ICU, surgical services, ambulatory clinics, pharmacy, PT/OT, case management, and social work; the Director Quality Assurance will champion survey readiness (CMS, Joint Commission), drive RCA and FMEA, streamline OPPE/FPPE and peer review, reduce readmissions and HAIs through antimicrobial stewardship and sepsis bundles, optimize patient experience, standardize policy management, and leverage clinical decision support to sustain high reliability and frontline-driven improvement.
Nestled in north eastern Oregon, candidates for the Director Clinical Quality and Risk Management role will appreciate a lifestyle defined by four-season recreation and small-town ease: alpine lakes and the Blue and Wallowa mountains for hiking, skiing, fly-fishing, and mountain biking 🏔️; vibrant farmers markets, coffee roasters, craft breweries, and farm-to-table cuisine; strong K-12 options and nearby higher-education campuses; short, low-stress commutes; affordable housing from historic homes to new builds; safe, friendly neighborhoods with parks, trails, and dog-friendly spaces; a lively arts-and-culture calendar with concerts, galleries, and festivals; fitness, youth sports, and outdoor clubs; reliable broadband, clean air, and starry-night skies; access to regional airports and highways for easy weekend getaways; and a balanced cost of living that stretches a Director Quality Assurance salary further while maintaining privacy, elbow room, and a genuine sense of community.
The Director Clinical Quality and Risk Management can expect competitive compensation with potential sign-on and relocation support, comprehensive health coverage, retirement matching, HSA/FSA options, generous PTO, paid holidays, tuition assistance, certification incentives, and robust well-being resources; launch the next chapter—connect today with a Clinical Management Consultants recruiter for a confidential conversation and discover how this Director Quality Control opportunity can accelerate a high-impact, purpose-driven career.
