Regional MDS Coordinator (RNAC) -
Skilled Nursing & Long-Term Care Location:
Harrisburg, PA Region Compensation:
$150,000 - $180,000 annually (commensurate with experience) Lead Clinical Excellence Across a Growing Skilled Nursing Network A respected multi-site healthcare organization dedicated to serving the geriatric population is seeking an experienced Regional MDS Coordinator (RNAC) to provide leadership, oversight, and support across multiple skilled nursing facilities throughout the region. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned MDS professional who enjoys mentoring teams, driving quality outcomes, optimizing reimbursement, and ensuring regulatory excellence across a portfolio of facilities. What You'll Do Drive Regulatory Compliance Ensure accurate and timely completion of MDS assessments in accordance with CMS and state regulations Monitor facility compliance with RAI guidelines and support corrective action planning when needed Stay ahead of regulatory changes and serve as a trusted resource for regional teams Optimize Clinical Reimbursement Review MDS assessments for accuracy, consistency, and PDPM compliance Partner with facility leadership to maximize reimbursement through accurate clinical documentation and coding practices Support improvements in Case Mix Index (CMI) performance and reimbursement outcomes Mentor and Develop Teams Provide ongoing education, coaching, and support to facility MDS Coordinators and interdisciplinary teams Lead onboarding and training for new MDS personnel Serve as the regional subject matter expert for
MDS 3.0, RAI
processes, and best practices Lead Audits and Quality Initiatives Conduct routine audits of MDS assessments, care plans, and supporting documentation Identify trends, compliance risks, and opportunities for improvement Implement action plans that strengthen documentation quality and survey readiness Analyze Performance Data Monitor key quality metrics, Five-Star indicators, and reimbursement trends Prepare reports and recommendations for operational and clinical leadership Support organization-wide quality improvement initiatives What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required Minimum 3-5 years of MDS experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute care settings Strong working knowledge of:
MDS 3.0 RAI
Manual PDPM reimbursement methodology Care planning and clinical documentation requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting multiple facilities or working in a regional leadership capacity RAC-CT certification (or willingness to obtain shortly after hire) BSN preferred Key Competencies Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills Strong analytical and auditing abilities Ability to influence, educate, and support interdisciplinary teams Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities across locations Why This Opportunity?
