Full Job Description Job Purpose:
The Program Coordinator acts as a Community Health Worker (Spanish speaking), supporting the operational and administrative functions of a multi-year program designed to shrink health disparities in the San Gabriel Valley. This is a summer opportunity that is a grant funded position that will end on 8/31/2026. We require all employees to comply with our Mandatory Vaccination Policy. As a condition of employment individuals will be asked to provide proof of compliance.
Main Responsibilities:
Conduct outreach in the San Gabriel Valley Support planning and coordination of a program activities and operations. Navigate community resources and share them with community members in need. Lead community listening sessions and share public health information on topics such as
COVID-19.
Coordinate and maintain applicable program schedules and agendas, which may include tracking deadlines, deliverables, communication with management and/or stakeholders Help deliver general welfare interventions to the communities of the San Gabriel Valley Use software apps and tools to collect and report relevant data tracking community health metrics. Other duties as assigned by the
Program and Area Managers Scope and Travel:
Extensive travel by foot and by car within the San Gabriel Valley (Communities of Rosemead, El Monte, South El Monte, South San Gabriel), as well as travel to and from CORE's Los Angeles Headquarters (Chinatown)
Qualifications:
Preference for candidate with bachelor's degree in public health or health sciences, or at least two year's equivalent experience in relevant field Must be fluent in Cantonese or Mandarin Recent associate, bachelor's, and MPH graduates are highly encouraged to apply, as this short-term position offers valuable hands-on experience for individuals looking to build their professional and public health experience.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience in public health, healthcare settings, community outreach or related fields or equivalent educational experience Experience in community outreach, conducting surveys, collecting data, and reporting data Experience working with community-based organizations, local government agencies, volunteer groups in LA County (preferred) Knowledge of community resources in
LA County Skills & Competencies:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in MS Office applications Flexible and adaptive to a frequently changing environment Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Close attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Professional level proficiency in English and Spanish , (speaking, reading, writing) - required Knowledgeable of HIPAA
