Full-Time About Us Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing poverty and strengthening communities by providing services and support to individuals and families throughout the Ozarks. OACAC Head Start provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, and family support services to children ages birth through five and their families, preparing children for success in school and life. Position Overview OACAC Head Start is seeking a compassionate and experienced Health Assistant to support the health needs of enrolled children and families. This role assists with required child health screenings and collaborates with families, staff, and community providers to promote positive health outcomes. Work Schedule Monday-Friday 40 hours per week Key Responsibilities Complete required child health screenings including hearing, vision, hemoglobin, blood pressure, and height/weight Collaborate with families, staff, and community health providers Maintain accurate and confidential health records Support compliance with Head Start health requirements and regulations Assist with follow-up care and referrals as needed Promote positive health and wellness practices for children and families Perform additional duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Experience in pediatric, community, or public health care Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work effectively with diverse populations Knowledge of early childhood development, family dynamics, and health regulations Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) credential preferred Required Skills and Abilities Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to collaborate with staff, families, and community partners Ability to provide professional and compassionate support to children and families Compensation Salary range: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
